The first warm afternoons of spring call for something like ‘Mollee’, a pink tweed mini that does French-luxe romance without an ounce of stiffness.

We chose an imported small-house tweed for this one, the kind with serious provenance: woven from paper-strip yarn, looped bouclé, cotton, and slubby fancy yarns that build that rich, dimensional check. A butterfly paper-strip thread runs through it, lending the surface a soft, almost luminous play of texture, and the colour reads like sugared petals, candy-pink and ivory melting into each other across the weave. Every panel is pattern-matched seam to seam, the kind of finishing that quietly eats fabric to keep the check flawless.

We hand-strung the straps with pearls and golden rice beads, set on satin-backed bands that sit smoothly against the shoulder and adjust to you. At centre front, a camellia folded from the same tweed adds a sweet, early-spring brightness, while a W-shaped seam beneath the bust cradles and shapes for a fuller, more flattering fit. From there, ‘Mollee’ nips in at the waist and falls into a gentle A-line that skims and slims, the fully bonded construction keeping everything smooth and dimensional with a little breathing room between fabric and skin.

The hem is the real reward: finished entirely by hand in a raw, frayed edge that lets the weave fringe out for that authentic tweed texture, then reinforced along the seam so nothing unravels with wear. The cotton-rich blend keeps it breathable and comfortable against the skin, never stuffy, while the nylon and polyester give it staying power: hard-wearing, holds its shape, easy to live in.
