We cut it from a custom textured knit that earns its keep on two fronts at once: structured enough to hold a clean shape, stretchy enough to forget you’re wearing it. A bonded finish keeps the fabric firm without stiffness, so the skirt stands away from the body in a clean arc rather than clinging to the leg. The real luxury is in the give, raising your arms or sinking into a chair comes without a hint of restriction, while the waist and midriff stay quietly streamlined throughout.

The 8.5cm satin bardot band plays the lead. Worked in a tonal stretch satin with a soft pearl sheen, it sits just below the collarbone to draw the shoulders into a clean straight line and frame the neck, doing the work of jewellery on its own. Understated up close, quietly expensive from across the room. Add a string of pearls and the Hepburn reference writes itself.

Below, side panels release the skirt into a full A-line, blooming from the waist like couture boning for that princess volume that skims over everything and leaves only curve behind. The waist nips to its slimmest against all that fullness, the hemline sits a touch higher, and every step carries the grace of an old-film heroine.

We made her in two lengths, so you choose how the night plays out. The mini lands fifteen centimetres above the knee for an instantly leggier line; the midi falls to the slimmest part of the ankle for a high, refined flash of skin. Same elegance, told two ways.
