A corseted ode to the white swan, the ‘Alphonsine’ carries all the romance of a sunlit garden wander with none of the fuss.
At the bodice, the craft speaks first. It’s cut from an intricate imported lace where raised, interlacing lines build a textured floral motif that rewards a second look. Every length of lace is positioned individually, each panel cut piece by piece so the pattern falls exactly where it should. Through the play of light and the fine open weave, the effect shifts between sheer and solid, delicate yet quietly structured. Four layers of fabric give the bodice its gentle hold, and the neckline is finished with a four-layer mesh frill, folded for softness and a featherlight bit of dimension.
For shaping, we chose front and back boning of differing lengths on purpose, tracing the waist into a soft, girlish curve while keeping the fit comfortable to wear. Sheer mesh panels cut into the sides bring an unexpected breath of air, innocent and just a little knowing all at once.
Below the waist, structure gives way to softness. Featherlight and fluid, the gauzy fabric drifts and floats with every step, rich in texture across its surface yet weighing almost nothing in the hand. The long version pours into a sweeping A-line, layered over net for volume that floats rather than bulks, pure as moonlight; the mini flips the mood to something playful and bouncy, made for twirling.
Cast in a powder-apricot hue, soft as the first blush of dawn. A back zip with bound edges keeps the finish clean.
Same swan, two endings, your call: choose the long for ethereal, floor-skimming romance, or the short for something cheeky and light on its feet.
• Dry cleaning is the best way to extend the life of your item.
• Hand wash in cold water, using a gentle detergent. Gently and slowly swish the garment then rinse with cold water. Remove excess water by rolling the garment in a towel and gently pressing to absorb lingering moisture. Ensure the garment keeps its shape by laying flat or hanging to dry.
• Use a steamer to get out creases in your item or simply iron inside-out on low heat, putting a cloth between the fabric and the iron.
