The top looks deceptively simple, but it’s all in the detail. Cut from a lustrous satin in a champagne hue, soft and refined as the inside of a shell, with gathered bust panels and sleeves rendered in a fluid, breathable 100% viscose for that barely-there sense of movement. A custom shell-sequin bow sits at the centre front, the kind of small, girlish flourish that gives the whole piece its sweetness, while delicate lace edging traces the neckline and hem with a sheer, just-glimpsed prettiness.

Fine boning runs through every seam to gently smooth and define, so it sits beautifully, with a firm 100D backing added for extra hold. We’ve kept it clever, too: a resin centre-back zip makes it easy to slip into, and the sleeves are fully detachable, so you can wear her billowing and off-shoulder one day, clean and strappy the next.

The skirt is its own quiet feat of craft. Eight and a half metres of acetate-blend fabric, heat-set and precision-pleated, give it a weightless, drifting fall, the kind of fluid length pear-shaped figures will especially love. By day the finish reads as a soft, misty matte; catch it in sunlight and it turns gently luminous, a creamy off-white with the faintest texture running through it.

There’s no waistband, a deliberate choice finished with a zip rather than elastic, so it sits seamlessly under any top and falls to a graceful ankle length, though it’s worth checking your waist measurement before you order.
