‘Jereni’ is the mermaid you half remember from a childhood myth, the one who slips between water and air and never quite lets you decide which world she belongs to.
The bralette opens the story with sculpted cups that trace the collarbone in delicate detail, framed above by fine pleats pinched and gathered by hand into a soft ruffle. It does double duty: skimming the underarm to smooth away any side bulk while adding a featherlight, fluttering movement across the bust. An inverted pleat at the centre front builds dimension and quiet structure, carrying through to gathered detailing at the back so nothing ever reads flat or thin. Beneath the bust, a curved ruffle draws a soft dividing line that lengthens the body and lifts the whole proportion.
The skirt is where ‘Jereni’ stops whispering and starts moving. We let the fabric’s natural drape shape a fishtail that moulds close through the waist and hip to flatter the ratio between them, then breaks into a curved hem that falls unevenly at the sides for a slimming, elongating effect. Six triangular godet panels open the skirt into a fuller, more sculptural sweep, each one its own careful step in the making, so the hem moves with a lavish, three-dimensional fullness that ripples like a mermaid breaking the surface.
The fabric is its own kind of magic. We start with a woven mesh base, then machine-embroider sheer mesh across it to mimic the scaled shapes of a mermaid’s tail, scattering round sequins in a contrasting tone so they catch and shift the light like overlapping scales. Cut from a Tencel blend with beautiful drape, it lends the finished pieces a dreamlike, fluid quality. The bodice fabric brings its own crinkled texture, light to the touch yet substantial, pressed into soft creases that layer into the skirt for one continuous, flowing richness.
• Dry cleaning is the best way to extend the life of your item.
• Hand wash in cold water, using a gentle detergent. Gently and slowly swish the garment then rinse with cold water. Remove excess water by rolling the garment in a towel and gently pressing to absorb lingering moisture. Ensure the garment keeps its shape by laying flat or hanging to dry.
• Use a steamer to get out creases in your item or simply iron inside-out on low heat, putting a cloth between the fabric and the iron.
