Gingham gets a finishing-school education in the ‘Linda’ dress and bolero set, all bows, braid and very good manners.
The dress takes the first lesson. Cut from a double-piqué weave with the faintest pearl-like sheen, the body of ‘Linda’ is the colour of fresh whipped cream, soft to the touch yet holding its A-line shape with quiet confidence. A satin lining glides against the skin underneath, so the whole thing feels as smooth as it looks.
The gingham sits up straight at the bust: a sweetheart-cut top in inky black-and-white check, bordered in ivory braid and padded for a full, structured shape that flatters without fuss, finished with a slim ribbon bow at the centre. The waist nips in to draw out a feminine waist-to-hip line, while two dainty woven bows settle at the hip like a wink. A detachable camellia brooch shifts her from sweet to something a little more composed, and adjustable straps and a concealed zip make slipping in and out effortless.
Enter the bolero, head girl of the set. Woven in a yarn-dyed bouclé tweed in that same checked story, it’s soft-handed with a beautifully clear texture, lined in a vintage lace that breathes and adds a pretty layer of depth. Hand-braided trim runs along every edge, the kind of heavy-craft detail you notice up close.
The star pupil sits front and centre: a sculpted ribbon bow stitched across the placket, with a removable camellia bloom pinned at its heart, the flourish that ties the whole jacket together. Hidden hook-and-eye fastenings keep the closure clean and invisible.
Worn together, ‘Linda’ is pure old-money romance with a wink, tweed-and-gingham polish softened by all those little bows.

• Dry cleaning is the best way to extend the life of your item.
• Hand wash in cold water, using a gentle detergent. Gently and slowly swish the garment then rinse with cold water. Remove excess water by rolling the garment in a towel and gently pressing to absorb lingering moisture. Ensure the garment keeps its shape by laying flat or hanging to dry.
• Use a steamer to get out creases in your item or simply iron inside-out on low heat, putting a cloth between the fabric and the iron.
