Built on the old racecourse logic that the crowd is always better dressed than the horses, ‘Cheltenham’ is our most quietly competitive piece of tailoring.
Cut from a smooth, faintly textured suiting fabric in the shade of milky tea left to cool, the jacket sits close through the body before easing into a soft ruffled peplum that breaks up the formality with a little sweetness. Antiqued metal buttons run down an asymmetric front placket, tracing a slanted path from shoulder to waist where a straight row would only sit flat. Gently puffed shoulders lift the line at the top.
The collar breaks the dress code, on purpose. A crisp checked cotton spreads wide across the shoulders and ties into a generous bow at the throat, cutting through the solid neutral with an unmistakably vintage English mood. The same check returns at the cuffs, banded and buttoned, so the story carries all the way down the sleeve.
Cinch the self-fabric belt through its engraved metal buckle to draw in the waist and sharpen your proportions, then let the peplum fall beneath to soften the tailoring. Pinned at the chest, an oxidised metal crest with a fine chain drape adds the final note of polish, the sort of detail that makes the jacket feel collected rather than bought.
The skirt loosens the reins. An A-line sweep falls to midi with easy movement, traced around the lower hem with a fine woven trim that catches the light as you walk. A side seam zip keeps the line clean and uninterrupted.
Model is 173cm (Bust 79 · Waist 60 · Hips 89cm), wearing size XS.

• Dry cleaning is the best way to extend the life of your item.
• Hand wash in cold water, using a gentle detergent. Gently and slowly swish the garment then rinse with cold water. Remove excess water by rolling the garment in a towel and gently pressing to absorb lingering moisture. Ensure the garment keeps its shape by laying flat or hanging to dry.
• Use a steamer to get out creases in your item or simply iron inside-out on low heat, putting a cloth between the fabric and the iron.
